Lego Avengers Helicarrier Revealed!

Lego has finally revealed it’s official images of the newest Marvel’s The Avengers set, The SHEILD Helicarrier. This set was been rumored for over a year, and has finally been officially confirmed. The set will include a hefty 2996 pieces at a price point of $349.99. Meaning I will more than likely miss out on this one unless I win the lottery. 🙂 Here are the pictures we have all been waiting for!

This will be our first time seeing Maria Hill in Lego form. We also get a brand new version of Nick Fury. As for Hawkey, Black Widow, and Captain America, the changes seem somewhat subtle. We have seen them all multiple times before. I am loving that display stand though, it looks great and very SHEILD’y. Yes, I just turned SHELD into an adjective. 😛

The fact that this is micro-scale is very disappointing. I realize that it would be nearly impossible to make this minifigure scale and be at a reasonable price, but I would have liked to see Lego work something out to fit the minifigures inside the ship, regardless of how tight they fit. It also seems a bit overpriced. At 3000 pieces, I would have liked to see a $300 price tag. Lego did a similar thing with the Star Wars Ewok Village, which had 2000 pieces and a price of $250. I have to give Lego credit though, they did an awsome job with the ship itself. It looks absolutely amazing! I love the way they made the runways and the engine fans are spot on. There is actually a play feature in there that allows you to turn those fans all at once.

That’s all for now. That is until the next Marvel set…

Lego 2015 – Images from the Nuremberg Toy Fair

Lego loves to reveal its upcoming items at toy fairs. That’s exactly what happened at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. The following images cover upcoming 2015 sets from City, Ninjago, Friends, Technic, Creator, and Architecture.

Lego Avengers Age of Ultron – Official Box Images

The new Avengers movies will soon be upon on. The Lego sets will be upon us even sooner. Lego has released the official images of the sets. Here they are!

76029 – Iron Man vs. UItron

Lego Avengers Box 1

76030 – Avengers Hydra Showdown

Lego Avengers Box 2

76031 – The Hulkblaster Smash

Lego Avengers Box 5

76038 – Attack on Avengers Tower

Lego Avengers Box 4

76032 – Avengers Quintjet City Chase

Lego Avengers Box 3

No official images have been offered of the last set, 76041 Attack on Hydra Fortress. This more than likely means that the set will be a “Hard to Find” set. It may even be a store exclusive. In the past, certain sets have only been available from Lego and a specific store like Toys R Us, Target, etc. Thanks for reading, I’m looking forward to these sets and the movie in May.

The new Lego Pirates theme.

This year, maybe even as early as February 1st, Lego will be releasing a brand new Pirates theme. It will consist of 5 sets including a brand new pirate ship. Considering it will be a few more years til the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is out, this will hold over the Lego Pirate fans until then. Here are images of the 5 upcoming sets.

Shipwreck Defense – 84 pieces

Lego 2015 Pirates 1

Soldiers Outpost – 164 pieces

Lego 2015 Pirates 2

Treasure Island – 181 pieces

Lego 2015 Pirates 3

Soldiers Fort – 234 pieces

Lego 2015 Pirates 4

The Brick Bounty – 745 pieces

Lego 2015 Pirates 5

I like how Lego is starting to incorporate more minfigure quality. I mean how they have the newer style hairpiece and new printings on torsos and pants. My personal favorite of the 5 is the Soldiers Fort set. I love the way the female soldier and the admiral figs look. Not to mention that awsome flag. 🙂

No official release date has been set, but I expect them to be hitting shelves within the next few months.

Will Lego Minifigures Series 14 be all Halloween figs?

New images are flooding the internet today of what is said to be Collectible Minifigures Series 14. It’s been rumored for awhile now that Lego would be doing a series consisting solely of “monsters”. Whether the figs in the picture are from series 14 or not, they are still way cool and appear to be Official Lego. If these are Series 14 though, could this mean that the new Simpsons series could be put on hold? I hope not.

Lego Minifigures Series 14?

These are all very…. unique minifigures. Especially that one on the right of the flower guy. Some of these are very cool though, a new Frankenstein and a new cheerleader would be great. That witch is also very Halloween’ish, and not one of the dark “scary” type witches we’ve gotten in the past.

As for the question of whether or not this is Series 14, I have no idea. I could see it happening, but part of me is thinking that Lego usually wants more variety in a series. I guess time will tell. If these are released, I can accurately assume it will be in the August wave, right in time for Halloween.

Lego Scooby-Doo Premier Images!!!

Now there is no doubt that Lego will be releasing a Scooby-Doo line. It’s finally happening. 🙂 Two set pictures have surfaced, The Mystery Machine ($29.99) and Mystery Mansion ($89.99). Without further delay, here are the new pics!

Lego Scooby Doo Mystery Machine

Lego Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion

These figs are looking absolutely great. For villians, I’m seeing a nice new zombie, a new knight, and new vampire just in these 2 sets. The ghost isn’t anything new, but it will be nice for those who don’t have one already. As for “the gang”, I think they nailed Fred, Daphne, and Velma. Shaggy looks good too but doesn’t look quite as much like the Shaggy from the original cartoons. Scooby doesn’t overly impress me, but I do think they did a decent job. I realize it must have been hard to make a new molded dog that looks both like the new Be Cool Scooby Doo cartoon, and like the original episodes from back in the day.

Some other new items can be seen in the sets too. The Mystery Machine seems to include some new printed bricks and lots of stickers. I also see new printed 2×2 tiles in both sets. One thing that stood out in the Mystery Mansion set was the jack-o-lantern piece on the left wing of the mansion. That looks like a brand new mold. I think it will look much better than the previous version which was just an orange minifigure head printed to look like a pumpkin. Besides the printed clock pieces, I think that’s about all I can identify. There will surely be old pieces in new colors as in all new lines.

As for the original list that I posted awhile back, it is a bit updated. Here is the new list.

– Mummy Museum Mystery ($11.99 – $14.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Mummy

-Mystery Plane Adventures ($19.99 – $24.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Headless Horseman

– The Mystery Machine ($29.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Zombie

– Haunted Lighthouse ($39.99 – $69.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Ghost, Swamp Monster

– Mystery Mansion ($89.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Vampire, Ghost, Black Knight

It looks like with the success of the now-retired Monster Fighters theme, Lego will be having another “monster” year. New images have also surfaced of Series 14 Minifigures being dedicated to Halloween themed figs. I’m currently working on a post about that.
