We finally have an image of the final Scooby-Doo set. It is called Mummy Museum Mystery and will retail for $14.99.
A new image has appeared of the Star Wars set entitled The Final Duel. This marks the first image of the Summer 2015 Star Wars sets. Image acquired via Hoth Bricks.
These 2 familiar droids are rumored to be from the 2015 Star Wars Advent Calender.
It also looks like Lego will be redoing its SW Character Encyclopedia this year. No news on what minifigure will be included in the book, but it will be great to see the encyclopedia include all the new figs that have been released in the past few years.
Moving on to the Scooby Doo sets! These 2 images were also acquired via Hoth Bricks. 75903 Haunted Lighthouse and 75901 Mystery Plane Adventure are the sets included in the pictures. No images of the final Scooby Doo set entitled Mummy Museum Mystery have surfaced yet.
These 2 look great in my opinion. The Headless Horsemen looks awsome, I love that new jack-o-lantern mold. As for the swamp monster, he looks basically identical to the Monster Fighters one just in a new color. The lighthouse itself looks decent, could have been a little taller in my opinion but still a cool set overall. I also like the fact that they have a version of Scooby standing and one of him sitting.
That’s all for now folks. Thanks for reading!
Now there is no doubt that Lego will be releasing a Scooby-Doo line. It’s finally happening. 🙂 Two set pictures have surfaced, The Mystery Machine ($29.99) and Mystery Mansion ($89.99). Without further delay, here are the new pics!
These figs are looking absolutely great. For villians, I’m seeing a nice new zombie, a new knight, and new vampire just in these 2 sets. The ghost isn’t anything new, but it will be nice for those who don’t have one already. As for “the gang”, I think they nailed Fred, Daphne, and Velma. Shaggy looks good too but doesn’t look quite as much like the Shaggy from the original cartoons. Scooby doesn’t overly impress me, but I do think they did a decent job. I realize it must have been hard to make a new molded dog that looks both like the new Be Cool Scooby Doo cartoon, and like the original episodes from back in the day.
Some other new items can be seen in the sets too. The Mystery Machine seems to include some new printed bricks and lots of stickers. I also see new printed 2×2 tiles in both sets. One thing that stood out in the Mystery Mansion set was the jack-o-lantern piece on the left wing of the mansion. That looks like a brand new mold. I think it will look much better than the previous version which was just an orange minifigure head printed to look like a pumpkin. Besides the printed clock pieces, I think that’s about all I can identify. There will surely be old pieces in new colors as in all new lines.
As for the original list that I posted awhile back, it is a bit updated. Here is the new list.
– Mummy Museum Mystery ($11.99 – $14.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Mummy
-Mystery Plane Adventures ($19.99 – $24.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Headless Horseman
– The Mystery Machine ($29.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Zombie
– Haunted Lighthouse ($39.99 – $69.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Ghost, Swamp Monster
– Mystery Mansion ($89.99) – Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Vampire, Ghost, Black Knight
It looks like with the success of the now-retired Monster Fighters theme, Lego will be having another “monster” year. New images have also surfaced of Series 14 Minifigures being dedicated to Halloween themed figs. I’m currently working on a post about that.
For years Lego fans have asked for a new Lego theme based on Scooby and the gang. In the past year the rumors have picked up though, and I now believe it will actually happen after all these years.
Cartoon Network is airing a brand new Scooby Doo cartoon called Be Cool Scooby Doo, and Lego will likely make a series of sets based on that new show. A set list consisting of 5 new boxes has surfaced. It is as follows:
– 75900 Mummy Museum Mystery
– 75901 Mystery Plane Adventure
– 75902 Mystery Machine
– 75903 Haunted Lighthouse
– 75904 Mystery Mansion
These names look very Scooby-ish to me. Excpecially considering 4 out the 5 sets include the word ‘mystery’. The names tell me we will be seeing a new mummy minifigure which we haven’t seen since Monster Fighters. New vehicles like the plane and the Mystery Machine itself. The lighthouse and mansion builds should be very cool. If they are listed in order of their price then the Mansion, being the highest, could be the 2nd Haunted House Lego has made. If so it would replace the Monster Fighters Haunted House set ($179.99) that is now retired. As for a release date of these sets, I would expect a May/June release.
